To Eat

The Presidio is known for restaurants that cater to a variety of palates. Here are some of our favorites:

  • Arguello: This restaurant offers authentic Mexican cuisine and contemporary cocktails. It is family-friendly with kid-friendly options like quesadillas and taquitos.

  • Round House Café: This café caters to those looking for American comfort food, like apple pie and hotdogs. You can also enjoy their famous clam chowder, which is served in the famous San Francisco sourdough bread bowl. Anything you choose at this spot can be savored while appreciating a breathtaking view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

  • Presidio Social Club: This restaurant has a more elegant vibe, but you do not need to dress up or have special access. Anyone is welcome here to dine on American staples from the 1950s, such as meatloaf, grilled liver, deviled eggs, and pineapple upside-down cake.

To Do

The Presidio has a lot of interesting sights for visitors with varying interests.

The Walt Disney Family Museum will entertain kids with its lively museum houses and mini model of Disneyland.

For the history buffs, there are abandoned batteries at Fort Scott to explore. These history lessons are accompanied by a great view of the Pacific Ocean.

The Presidio Promenade is a trail ideal for visitors looking to get some exercise while enjoying the Presidio’s view. It begins at the Lombard Gate and stretches to the Golden Gate Bridge. On this trail, you’ll be able to walk or cycle past some of the Presidio’s landmarks, like the National Cemetery or the Letterman Digital Arts Center.
